MSUFCU First Desk Drawer Fund Raffle Winner Announced
EAST LANSING, Mich. — Starting in the third quarter of 2022, MSUFCU and OU Credit Union members have a chance to win up to $20,000 in the quarterly Desk Drawer Fund Member Raffle when they purchase raffle tickets at any of of the Credit Union’s branches.
On Friday, October 7, 2022, Ronald Darling, Jr. was randomly selected as the grand prize winner of $16,580.
“To think that by simply purchasing a $20 raffle ticket, I’m supporting our community,” said Ronald Darling, Jr. “I still can’t believe that I won over sixteen thousand dollars in the first quarterly Desk Drawer Fund Raffle. Amazing.”
The first raffle saw 1,658 tickets sold, with a total amount of $33,160 raised. Half of the funds raised will be donated to the Desk Drawer Fund and invested back into the community. By purchasing a raffle ticket, Credit Union members are supporting Desk Drawer Funds mission to contribute to the public good and make a positive impact in our hometowns. Members will have another chance to win during the 2022 Q4 raffle in November.
“We want to congratulate Mr. Darling on winning the first Desk Drawer Fund Member Raffle and thank all of our members who participated by purchasing tickets,” said Susi Elkins, Chief Community Impact Officer of MSUFCU. “Through the Desk Drawer Fund we are able to further our philanthropic mission as a Credit Union. Our members’ support for the foundations’ efforts and initiatives, such as the raffle, have a direct impact on making our community stronger.”
